PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
This kitchen reno included new cabinets, appliances, flooring and a grand cathedral ceiling that extends over the adjacent living room. The old kitchen felt rather claustrophobic due to the low ceiling and hanging cabinetry. By restructuring the roof to a cathedral ceiling, the space was created to allow higher (more) cabinetry while also creating a wide open feeling of space. Extending the new cathedral ceiling over the adjacent room allowed the skylights to be place on the sunny side of the roof. This also created a great decorating space and an even larger feeling of space. 2 electric opening skylights (with rain sensors) let the hot air out and fresh air in for a very comfortable energy efficient environment.
